Nashville February 2019

Our good friend, Karen, has her birthday in February.  For this year she wanted to go to Nashville and meet up with her cousin from Indiana for her birthday weekend.  She and her husband, Craig, invited us to come along.  We love Nashville and we also have some friends that live there so hell yeah!  We were all in.

It would be a short trip for us as we would leave on Friday, February 22 2019, and return on Sunday the 24th.  This trip would be all about spending time with friends, enjoying music, food, and some of our favorites spots in Nashville.  As this is a short trip the narrative is a bit light but the pictures will tell the story.

We were driving for this trip and taking separate vehicles since we were coming home before Craig and Karen.  We left about 8:30am on that Friday in a light rain.

We met Craig and Karen for lunch in Knoxville, then off to Nashville!

We got to Nashville mid-afternoon and after checking in at the hotel we headed right on over to Merchants for drinks and appetizers, then across the street to Honky Tonk Central.  This is where the craziness begins and we keep it going all weekend!

Karen's cousin, Linda, and here husband, Bret, met up with us at Honky Tonk Central.

From there we went to The Stillery, one of our favorite spots.  Live music that night and we of course had to have the Nashville hot chicken mac and cheese.  Good stuff!

Good times!  Rooftops, some bar hopping.  Our friends Lee and Erika met up with us at The Bourbon Street Blues Bar, another favorite spot of ours.  This place always has fantastic local live music and the dive bar vibe is something we really enjoy.

The next morning we started with breakfast at Biscuit Love and then spent time on Broadway, with a stop at Merchant's to celebrate Karen's Birthday!

Wait, is this Nashville, or Memphis??

Dinner at The Southern, followed by The Bourbon Street Blues Bar.  We are creatures of habit, but we know what we like.

The next morning the sun finally came out after a rainy Friday and Saturday.  We would have excellent weather for the drive home. This is really fortunate because the east bound lanes on I40 were closed due to a rock slide so we would be detoured through Hot Springs, NC.  A beautiful drive on a beautiful day.

What a fantastic weekend!  We are so fortunate to have such good friends to spend time with.  We are also grateful that we were able to celebrate Karen's Birthday with her.  We love Nashville!
